Remote Work Malaysia (RWM) recently collaborated with WomenBizSENSE (WBS), a Penang-based community of women business owners, as part of WBS’s 20th anniversary celebration.
As part of the collaboration, RWM provided workspace day passes as door gifts for the anniversary event, connecting WBS members with flexible workspaces available through the Remote Work Malaysia platform.
Supporting Business Owners Beyond Their Home City
The collaboration also highlighted an important use case for flexible workspaces: business travel within Malaysia.
Many WBS members are based in Penang but regularly travel to Kuala Lumpur for business meetings and appointments. During these trips, finding a suitable place to work between meetings can be a challenge.
Some common situations include:
- Working from a hotel but finding it difficult to stay focused
- Having several hours between appointments without enough time to return to the hotel
- Needing a convenient place to work, take calls or complete tasks before the next meeting
These needs demonstrate that access to a workspace is not only relevant to people working remotely from their home city. It can also be valuable for business owners and professionals who move between cities for work.
Turning Community Feedback into Platform Enhancements
RWM already offers workspaces in Penang, alongside its growing network across Klang Valley. Conversations with WBS members provided further insight into how business travellers use workspaces and what they look for when working away from their usual location.
Feedback from business communities such as WBS will also contribute to ongoing enhancements to the RWM platform, helping make it easier for users to discover and access suitable workspaces when travelling.
Expanding Access Across Malaysia
The collaboration with WBS reflects RWM’s broader direction: expanding beyond Klang Valley to support people who need flexible places to work wherever business takes them in Malaysia.
As RWM continues to expand its workspace network and build relationships with business communities in different cities, the platform aims to connect more businesses, professionals and workspace operators across the country.
