What are the responsibilities of partner cafes?

Partner cafes are responsible for validating customer’s coworking passes using the merchant account provided by Remote Work Malaysia. Additionally, partner cafes are responsible for maintaining a clean and comfortable ambience for remote workers. This includes ensuring reliable internet access, providing working plug points. Finally, cafes should update Remote Work Malaysia if any of their details change.

How do cafes benefit from partnering with Remote Work Malaysia?

Partnering with Remote Work Malaysia can increase foot traffic and sales, as more remote workers will get to know your cafes. Additionally, your cafe will gain exposure through our marketing efforts, and you’ll be recognized as a part of a community that supports remote work. By standing out as a work-friendly spot, your cafe can attract more customers in the crowded cafe scene. You’ll also earn fairly from remote workers who love to spend time at your cafe.

How does it work?

Partner cafes will be listed in our directory. When remote workers show up, cafes will validate the coworking passes and provide to remote workers what is agreed on the coworking passes.

Is there a cost for cafes to join the program?

There is no upfront cost for cafes to join the program. However, cafes will pay a commission for the first RM25 spent by customers who bought F&B credit. This pay-by-performance scheme is reasonable as it ensures that cafes only pay for actual customer spending, aligning costs with benefits.

How do cafes be listed as partner cafes?

Interested cafes can apply HERE to join the program. We will onboard you with guidelines and promotional materials to help you get started.

What support does Remote Work Malaysia provide to partner cafes?

We provide marketing support, including promoting your cafe on our website and social media channels. We also offer insights on creating a conducive workspace and curating an inviting menu, to create loyal spending customers.

Can cafes decide the hours to receive remote workers?

Yes, cafes can decide the hours during which they receive remote workers. We encourage you to open all hours to remote workers to maximize your cafe visibility, but you ca choose to only open during your off-peak hours with lower traffic. Having remote workers during your off-peak hours allows you to have a human presence to keep the cafe vibe alive. Your reception hours will be displayed on our portal for customers to see.

Can cafes create additional promotional offers to attract more remote workers?

Yes, cafes can create additional promotional offers to attract more remote workers. These offers can be tailored to your cafe’s unique strengths and customer preferences, helping to draw in more remote workers and increase sales.

What happens if a cafe wants to leave the program?

If a cafe decides to leave the program, they can notify Remote Work Malaysia, and we will remove them from our list of partner cafes. We appreciate any feedabck on why the decision was made, as it helps us improve the program for future partners.
